Pikes Peak VOAD

It Takes A Village

The mission of Pikes Peak VOAD is to strengthen and empower voluntary organizations and partners through cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration. Together, we enhance our collective ability to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impacts of disasters. By fostering shared relationships and leveraging the unique capabilities of each member organization, we work to build resilient communities and ensure effective support for those affected by disasters.

Pikes Peak VOAD’s 6 Guiding Principles

  1. Cooperation:
We value the power of partnerships and foster a spirit of mutual respect and trust among member organizations. By working together, we achieve more than any single organization could accomplish alone.
  2. Communication:
Open, transparent, and timely communication is the foundation of our work. We prioritize sharing information, best practices, and resources to ensure seamless disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.
  3. Coordination:
We are committed to aligning our efforts to maximize efficiency and avoid duplication of services. Through intentional planning and resource management, we ensure that every action taken supports the greater good.
  4. Collaboration:
Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. We bring together diverse organizations with unique strengths to create innovative solutions that address the needs of communities before, during, and after disasters.
  5. Strengthening Organizations:
We strive to empower our member organizations by fostering shared relationships and building their capacities. By leveraging collective knowledge, skills, and resources, we enhance the effectiveness of each organization in fulfilling its mission.
  6. All Parts of the Disaster Cycle:
We are dedicated to addressing all phases of the disaster cycle—preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Our holistic approach ensures that communities are better equipped to face challenges and rebuild stronger after disasters.

Our mission and set of guiding principles reflect a commitment to unity, resilience, and community-centered action in all aspects of disaster management.
